The company is organizing a dinner and dance party this coming August 3rd at the oriental, and the IP department, which I belong to, must put up a performance. Specifically, the theme must include ADULT CONTENT. See how deprived lawyers appear to be?

Siti told me that during one of the earlier dinner and dance nights, one of the male lawyers actually dressed as a female and did the stripper boogie in front of the audience.

Duh … I don’t know what to say.

I would have been excited if this is back at school but nowadays I’m feeling way too old for activities like this. I tried to hide my disinterest in front of my colleagues, but not my boredom towards the event.

Feeling unenthusiastic, I asked my mum if we could reschedule our Thailand trip. The negotiation didn’t turn out well.

This year, my colleagues suggested that they would do the Indian dance. As you see, other than Siti and I, the rest of the staff in the IP Department are Indians, so I can understand the culture awareness.

I guess like what Siti suggested, I can be in charge of taking the minutes while they perform.

Another thing, the theme of this year’s dinner and dance is… er hem… PIRATES OF THE ORIENTAL.

Perhaps there’s no cure for insomnia. Not for me, at least.

For the past two hours as I lay on my bed with my eyes shut, trying my best to fall asleep, events that took place during the day at work replayed randomly in my mind and there seem to be no ‘pause’ or ‘stop’ button to end these.

This is killing me. Not work. But working in a place like this is like standing on the waters and before you even realise, you are drowned. The feeling is akin to living on drugs where you are being consumed bit by bit as time goes by and then all of a sudden, you are -

GONE.
